Admire The Asymmetric: British Painter Geoffrey Pimlott

in Culture Published on 19 May 2014

a (edited) guest article from Daniel Dunt.

Born in 1946, Geoffrey Pimlott is a British painter with studios in Surrey, England, and Pas de Calais, France. He also rents a studio/apartment in Chiang Mai every winter. Pimlott is a Reigate School of Art (DipAD 1968) and Wimbledon College of Art graduate (MA 2004), and works predominantly in water-based mediums. He is a member of the Royal Watercolour Society.

With an extensive portfolio of work, both in watercolour and acrylic on paper, and acrylic on canvas, Geoffrey works heavily with asymmetric shapes and creates visually intriguing abstract works with an almost architectural quality.

Pimlott’s work has been seen around the world with countless exhibitions, including those in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, and Thailand.

Geoffrey Pimlott

Geoff Pimlott had four vibrant abstracts on display, their warm colours, straight lines and sharp angles all evoking the modern urban scene.
